Production Flow Chart: Cable Cutting → Parts Threading → Glue Mixing → Fiber Insertion → Heat Curing → Degluing → Polishing → End Face Inspection → Assembly → Testing → QA Sampling → Packaging

  1. Cable Cutting: Cut the optical cable to required length with aramid scissors, then loosely coil the cable.
  2. Parts Threading: Pre-thread various loose components onto the optical fiber for subsequent processes. Thread components in sequence: boot, heat shrink tube, support tube, spring. Pay attention to correct orientation.
  3. Glue Mixing: Use auxiliary tools to mix Part A and Part B of 353ND adhesive at a ratio of 10:1, minimize air bubbles.
  4. Fiber Insertion: Strip the cable jacket and coating layer using fiber strippers. Inject mixed adhesive into the ferrule rear with a syringe or dispenser. Manually insert the optical fiber into the glued ferrule, leaving a short fiber protrusion.
  5. Heat Curing: Place ferrules with inserted fiber into the curing oven and bake until the 353ND adhesive is fully cured.
  6. Degluing: Cut off excess protruding fiber from cured fiber ends with a cleaver. Mount fiber ends onto polishing jigs, then sand with degluing sandpaper to remove residual adhesive on ferrule tips.
  7. Polishing: Polish jigs (after degluing) on a polishing machine. Standard polishing sequence: 9μm → 3μm → 1μm → 0.05μm. Polishing duration and pressure depend on polishing film.
  8. End Face Inspection: Inspect ferrule end face quality with a 400× end face inspector. End faces with dark spots or large scratches are rejected and require re-polishing.
  9. Assembly: Assemble polished ferrules and loose parts into connectors, then crimp the boot with a crimping tool or crimping machine.
  10. Testing: Use insertion loss & return loss tester to measure key parameters: insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL). For single-mode fiber, typical requirement: IL ≤0.3dB, RL ≥50dB. Premium patch cords require 3D interferometer test (3 core metrics: apex offset, radius of curvature, fiber height).
  11. QA Sampling Inspection: QA inspectors conduct sampling tests on products passed the performance test for quality control.
  12. Packaging: Final packaging of qualified finished goods.
